Nyaya deals with pramana and pramayya , i.e . proof and that which is to be proved ; The former comprises problems of logic and theory of knowledge and the latter physics . न्याय में प्रमाण और प्रमैया का विवरण दिया है ; अर्थात् प्रमाण और प्रमाण और प्रमैया वह जिसे प्रमाणित किया जाना चाहिए.पहले में ज्ञान और तर्क का सिद्धांत है और बाद वाले में भौतिक विज्ञान का .

Sankhya has a fairly high place in philosophical thought and contains valuable contributions to psychology and to the theory of knowledge . But as a code of life it could not make much progress as it had not shown a way to salvation which the common people could follow . दार्शनिक विचारों में सांख़्य का साधारण ऊंचा स्थान है और मनोविज्ञान तथा ज्ञान के सिद्धांतों में मूल्यवान योगदान दे सकता है किंतु जीवन पद्धति के रूप में वह अधिक विकसित नहीं हो सका , क़्योंकि मोक्ष के लिए ऐसा मार्ग नहीं बताया , जिसे आम लोग समझ सकें .

All ideas about psychology and the theory of knowledge found in Patanjali are taken from Sankhya philosophy : His aim , like that of Sankhya , is that the human soul should free itself from the bonds of nature , from its own body , from karma and sansar and attain the realisation of truth and the state of absolute peace of mind which he calls the Yoga . पांतजलि योग में पाये जाने वाले मनोविज्ञान और ज्ञान के सिद्धांत सांख़्य दर्शन में से लिए गये है.सांख़्य के समान उसका उद्देश्य यह हे कि मनुष्य की आत्मा प्रकृति के बंधन से मुक़्त हो और सत्य की अनुभूति तथा मन की परम शांति प्राप्त करे , जिसे वह योग कहता है .
